Lunchtime Lecture- Dan Kanash

Dan Kanash is a designer and animator for commission. He talked about the difference between artists and designers which gave me some clarifications on both careers. My sister was both a designer and an artists, doing commisions for logos early in her career and continuing to do her own artwork until she was able to make enough to sustain herself.

Kanash also encouraged all of us to keep submitting our works to as many competitions as we could in order to get our work out there as well as build up a resime.

His animations were also pretty cool and reminded me of the small animations displayed in slide shows. It never really occured to me that those animations had to be done by hired animators.

It just goes to show how many art and design jobs there actually are that I don't even know about.
