This is hopefully the middle of the project. It is going pretty well. You can definitely tell what I am creating and the direction I am taking it. I wish the last photo didn't warp the sculpture's face (it looks more proportional in person).

So far my process has been to make a base layer of aluminum foil (can still be seen a little bit on the lighter parts of the clay), then cover it in clay, and finally to mark in the details through additive or subtractive methods depending on the part of the face I am working with. The eyes were more of a subtractive method and the teeth and tongue as well as the hair an additive method. I am somewhat worried about the stability of the monster clay, especially for the small snakes around the face because it doesn't harden as much as other clay and if it is dropped, smashed or harmed it will loose its details so it is difficult to transfer.

Some of the mistakes I have made are, the most major one, making one of the separate snakes too big (the one in the last picture). It ruins the delusion if it doesn't look accurate to the head. I might have to strip it and start again on the snakes, making them smaller and more manageable. I could also make the side hair thicker to add authenticity to thicker snakes around her head.

In the future I will want to add some scaled texture to the face, snakes, and eyebrows, if time allows. For the next few project days I will continue to work on the snakes (larger) with the hope that I can spray paint during next class setting myself up to paint what I need to and do a resin pour early next week.
