Process Post: Home Project Feb' 2024

So far I am still planning on making wings the helmet and a breastplate for this next piece. I have created a paper version and now a foam version of the helmet as shown above with no embellishments. I am still waiting to glue it all together in order to make sure that I like the design.

I also just got some PVC pipes to use as the main body of the wings. I am hoping to make the with the ability to extend and subtract, so it is easier to move them and for the show factor.

I have never used EVA foam before so it is interesting discovering what works and what doesn't. To get a clean cut it is best to either use a really sharp knife or a pair of scissors. I also might come back through once I put it together and hit it with a heat gun to make the exterior smooth. This is give it more of a metallic illusion and hopefully see the pieces together more.

At this point I am just hoping all the pieces seal together well and their aren't many cracks. But given this is my first time with the material, I will expect some setbacks. It won't be perfect but it will be fun.
